Created by Morgan Community College’s Center for Art and Community Enrichment in association with Sleeping Dog Media, this documentary elaborates on fresh research that revealed a link between Glenn Miller’s musical experiences as a teen in Fort Morgan, Colorado and his famous signature sound. The film fills a missing niche in the recorded history of the renowned big band leader’s life, and is unlike any other Glenn Miller biopic.
Morgan Community College (MCC) was granted the rights to produce the documentary by Jonnie Miller Hoffman, Glenn Miller’s daughter and the sole heir to the Glenn Miller trust.
“Glenn Miller: The Birthplace of His Music” was previewed at the Fort Morgan Glenn Miller Swingfest in July 2016 and made its broadcast debut on Colorado Public Television CPT-12 in December of the same year.
The film is currently available for viewing as part of the Glenn Miller exhibit at the Fort Morgan Museum. A limited number of DVD and Blu-ray copies are available for a donation of $25.00 to the MCC Foundation.
